Banoffee Milkshake | Recipe

Hello lovelies,

I hope you are all well, today I wanted to post something a little bit different to normal. I really enjoy cooking and baking so I want to start creating more posts to do with that as well as beauty! It has been very warm in the south of the UK this weekend which was very lucky as it is also easter weekend, Happy Easter to any others celebrating!

Moving on to the recipe, As it was so hot this weekend I really fancied a milkshake. Originally I was going to make a normal banana milkshake but to my surprise we had no vanilla ice cream in the freezer, but what we did have was toffee.

Recipe

  • 1 Large banana
  • 2 scoops of toffee ice cream
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  •  1.5 cups of milk
  • You’ll also need a blender of some kind

*if you are vegan you can switch to a dairy free alternative*

Method

As you can imagine the method for this recipe is pretty straight forward. I used a Nutri Blend blender, these are great for making any kind of drinks for example a smoothie or milkshake. This Nutri Blend is quite compact and it comes with 2 bottles that you use to blend the ingredients with which then turns into an on the go bottle as it comes with a lid.

To start with I washed out the blender and then started chopping up the banana. I’m sure you don’t need to chop the banana up but I feel like it speeds up the blending process a little.

Next I got an ice cream scoop and added two generous scoops of toffee ice cream to the blender. The ice cream I used was from Asda and it is their own brand, it’s called Really Creamy Caramel Fudge Ice cream, I do believe it lives up to the name!

After adding in the chopped banana and toffee Ice cream I thought a splash of vanilla would go very nicely with them. The vanilla extract I used is by Dr Oetker and it’s the Madagascan Vanilla Extract. I only added 1/4 teaspoon as I think vanilla can be overpowering if too much is added.

For the final step 1 and a half cups of milk is added to the blender and all that’s left to do is shake up it. I don’t like my drinks to be too cold but if you enjoy them very cold I’d recommend adding in a few ice cubes before blending.

The last thing to do is pour it into a cup of your choice and add any toppings if you wish. I decided it would be nice to add whipped to cream to the top to finish it of and it worked really well as it went with the creaminess from the ice cream.

I think all of these flavours go together really well and make a perfect banoffee milkshake!

Let me know what your favourite flavour of milkshake is in the comments, would you try this banoffe milkshake?

Thanks for reading 🙂
