Benefit Roller Lash | Review

Hello lovelies,

How are you all doing today? I have been loving this mascara for a while now so I decided to write a review to tell you all about it.

I first tried this benefit mascara when I went away for the weekend. I had forgotten to pack a makeup bag! I thought I’d take a stroll down to boots and see what i could pick up. I found this lovely little gift set that included a miniature brow gel, primer and the roller lash mascara. Prior to this I had never purchased any products from benefit because to be honest i didn’t know if the product would be with the money.

The Packaging

Lets start of with the packaging, I received this full size version for christmas. This mascara came in a lovely box. I love the design of roller lash, my favourite colour is pink and i think the black works really well with it. The handle of the wand has a slight rubbery texture which makes it easier to undo and grip whilst using it (especially if you have just applied hand cream) As you can see it also has a sort of lattice design to the handle, i think the design and the feel of this product is really good quality.

The Wand

At first I wasn’t sure about this style of wand because i don’t always get on well with plastic bristles but I wanted to give it a try. I ended up being pleasantly surprised, with the mascaras I have tried before that have had plastic bristles I found that it made my lashes clump together which I’m not really a fan of. Instead it made my lashes look really fluffy and separated them well. This wand has a small curve in it which helps to reach all of the lashes .

Colour

The colour I chose was black, I mostly like to wear black mascara as have quite light eyelashes so I find I need as dark a colour as I can get to really bring out my lashes. This mascara adds a lot of colour to the lashes and helps to accentuate them! I love how dark this mascara makes my lashes.

Overall Performance

To summarise I really love this mascara, as it has a curved wand it help to give your lashes that extra curl that I definitely need. It also helps to reach all of the little lashes in between to give the best effect and to give the lashes volume. I think the packaging is lovely and I think the colour scheme is great. After receiving this as a gift for Christmas when it runs out I definitely do think I’ll be repurchasing it even thought it is the most expensive mascara I have owned at £20 I do think it is worth the price tag.

Here are the before and after photos!

OOTD | Date Day

Hello lovelies,

Today I wanted to do an outfit of the day. I haven’t actually done one of these posts on my blog yet so this is a first.

My boyfriend and I went out to the cinema today so I wanted to dress smart/casual. We had a lovely meal before hand and then we went to watch Captain Marvel, my boyfriend is a big fan of Marvel so this film was a “must see”. I really enjoyed it and would definitely recommend.

img_0679

For the top I am wearing this lovely shirt by Micheal Kors, I love how bold the stripes are. I love the quality of the material this shirt was made from, its 100% cotton so is really breathable. On all of the buttons there is a little MK Logo and they’re all metal so the quality of the buttons is really good and they feel really sturdy. When this shirt is untucked it is quite long so I tent to either tuck it in or tie it up when I’m wearing it. I think this top adds a bit of class to an outfit, I don’t wear shirts very often so when I do I feel a lot smarter than usual haha!

For the jeans I am wearing this dark indigo blue pair from TopShop they are from the Jamie collection. I really love a good high waisted pair of jeans and I think they look great with the shirt. High waisted jeans seem suit me the best as they are tight and sinch in at the waist. The thing I love about these jeans are the belt loops, I normally purchase Joni jeans from TopShop but they don’t come with any belt loops and I love to add accessories such as belts to my outfits! These Jamie jeans are very much like the Joni style but the material is a little thicker and of course they have belt loops which is amazing.

img_0779.jpg

In addition to the jeans I added this belt from newlook. I love the gold detailing on this belt as I think it really stands out when I wear it. I love how this belt looks with the jeans a top, I think it ties the two items together. In my opinion I think the gold detailing on the belt goes well the both the blue in the shirt and the jeans. I get so much wear out of this belt as I really think it can complete a look!

On my feet am I wearing Adidas Gazelles in a baby pink shade. I love these trainers so much, they are so comfortable and very wearable. Although they are trainers I do think that they are on more of the smarter side compared to some of ones I have for example Adidas superstars. I think this type of trainer goes well with the outfit and keeps it a little more casual. As these shoes are suede I tend to only wear them when the weather is nice, so I was glad to see the sun shining today! The baby pink colour of the trainers tie in with my makeup look and add more colour into the outfit.

img_0677

For my hair today I went straight. I recently donated 12 inches to the little princess trust so I’m getting used to having short hair! It feels so different but as soon as I got it cut I could feel the difference, it felt so much lighter which I didn’t expect. As my hair is naturally curly I like to switch it up sometimes, so I decided to straighten it today also with it being cut it’s so much quicker to style!

For my makeup I went quite simple, as my outfit was blues and pink I went for a subtle eye look which I have created a tutorial for on my blog which you can check out here Peachy Eye Look. For this look I used the too faced chocolate bar palette. I wore a light tinted moisturiser, and for my lips I applied Velvet Teddy by Mac.

That’s all for today lovelies, I really hope you enjoyed reading this post. Let me know in the comments what film you last saw in the cinema!

Thanks for reading 🙂

March Birchbox | First Impressions

Hello lovelies,

Today I am going to be sharing my thoughts on the March Birch Box. There were lots of lovely products in this months box so read on if you would like to find out about them!

Detoxifying Clay Face Mask | Generation Clay

The first item in the box I picked out was this detoxifying clay mask, it really caught my eye. First impressions were that I loved the packaging, I think it’s really sleek and classic they grey colour also goes with the theme of the mask as its contains charcoal. I have tried this mask out once and i really enjoyed using it. I applied a thin layer onto my face a let it sit for 15 mins. I loved how this felt when applying, it is quite a thick consistency so i found that I didn’t need to use lots of product. As the mask was drying it did make my face become quite tight which i liked as it felt as though it was working and doing something. I didn’t make my face feel itchy or hot at all which is something I’ve had problems with in the past with other masks. After leaving this on for 15 mins I removed it using a flannel and some warm water. The results of using this mask for me was that my skin felt very smooth and soft and the amount of bumps on my skin had seemed to receded a little which i was happy about. It also didnt break out my skin. I defiantly think I’ll continue to use this and may buy the full size product when i have run out. The only thing that holds me back slightly is the price as it is £28.50.

DSCN1606

“You Go Girl” Bronzer Compact | The Beauty Crop

My first thoughts when I saw this product was that the box and the packaging was gorgeous, that drew me to this item straight away. I have only tried to bronzer out once but from that i think i will definitely be using it again. The colour of this compact is a warm bronze rather than cool, I quite liked that this had more of a warm undertone because i think this will be nice to wear in the summer with a bit of a tan. The consistency of the product is lovely, it is really smooth but has a little bit of a creaminess to it so it’s not chalky at all. At first glance this looks as though it is a completely matte bronzer but it does in fact have little bits of shimmer within it which I think is lovely.

DSCN1593

Eyebrow Cream | Chella

I was really excited to see a brow product in this months box as I’m always looking for new beauty products to try. I love this look of the packaging it quite simplistic, the design of this product is also really clever in my opinion. I think it would be good to travel with as it’s not very big and you get the brow pomade and the brush all in one. To use this product you pop the lid off if one end to reveal an angled brush and on the other end you unscrew it and the product is in the end of the little pot. I thought the colour match was great for me, it is a cool toned brown colour called “tantalising taupe”. The consistency was creamy and went onto the brows really nicely I loved using the brush as it allowed me to be really accurate. This brow cream dries down pretty well and i would say it is completely smudge proof so will stay on the brows all day long. This product is £20 so in my opinion its a little pricey but i do like the results.

DSCN1597

Original Clear Balm | Dr.PAWPAW

The next product in March’s Birch Box is this hydrating balm. I have really enjoyed using this lip balm, it is unscented which is a little disappointing but the quality makes up for it. This is a clear balm and it was really soothing on the lips. The main ingredients in this balm are aloe vera and olive oil, so is very moisturising. This was a full-sized product and would cost £3.95 if bought individually. This balm has multiple uses can be used for lips, cuticles and skin.

 DSCN1601

Smoothing Balm | Number 4

Also in this months box was a smoothing hair balm. This product smells lovely, it is used to help with curly hair that is frizzy and or coarse. I used a small amount on damp hair and it made my hair feel a lot smoother, it also looked really shiny which doesn’t normally happen when I leave my hair natural so I was quite impressed with that.

Scent Of A Dream Perfume | Charlotte Tilbury

The last product I received in this months box was a Charlotte Tilbury perfume Sample. I was quite surprised to find this in the box as i know this is quite a high-end product, the full-sized bottle is £49. To be brutally honest i was not a big fan of this scent, i think it is a little bit mature for me so i will probably give this away to a family member. I loved the rose gold and white packaging but just wasn’t to keen on the scent. I think this would be great for an older women as that’s what this scent reminded me of, it’s just such a shame i didn’t love it.

DSCN1611

That’s all for today lovelies, i hope you enjoyed reading. Let me know if you have tried any of these products out in the comments below!

Blogger Recognition Award

Hello lovelies,

This week I was very kindly nominated for the Blogger Recognition Award by the lovely Ashli from Me, You and Benny. If you haven’t already go and check her blog out, it’s fabulous, she also has a YouTube channel too!

Firstly want to thank Ashli for nominating me, I was totally not expecting it. It was a lovely surprise

I am going to list the rules below for my nominees and so you can take part if you wish to.

•Why I started blogging•

I haven’t been blogging for very long compared to some but I have just reached my 1 year bloggiversary last month. I have a real passion for photography but didn’t know how to could showcase it to people. I loved reading other people’s blogs but didn’t think I was confident enough to create my own at the time.

After about a year I decided that it was time to be brave and step outside of my comfort zone. So I created my blog and published my first ever post. The response I got from the blogging community was amazing and it has continued to be right up to present day. Other bloggers were so supportive of my blog and really helped me to feel positive and confident about my posts!

A year down the line and I don’t have any plans for stopping just yet. I love making content and taking photos to share with all of my fellow bloggers and viewers. Blogging has really helped me with my mental health, I struggle with anxiety and blogging helps me to forget about everything else going on in my life for a while. I can write about my passions which is beauty, fashion and lifestyle I love creating makeup looks and reviewing products and I’m so happy people enjoy reading my content.

I have still got a long way to go with my blog, just yesterday I upgraded my plan to premium and now have my own domain name, it feels amazing to know I have something that’s all mine and right now I couldn’t be happier!

•2 pieces of advice for new bloggers•

1 | As I said I have not been blogging for the longest time but one piece of advise I would like to give it to not get disheartened by views or likes. Try not to focus on the numbers and remember the reason you started your blog, passion! As long as you are happy with your content I believe that’s one of the most important things.

2 | Create a twitter account for your blog and join as many blogging pages as possible. Also follow other bloggers as they will support you as long as you support them. Blogger follow trains or comment swaps are really great for getting people viewing your posts and interacting!

That’s all for today, I really hope you enjoyed reading my blogging story. I want to thank Ashli again for nominating me I am so grateful!

Midnight | Eye Look

Hello lovelies,

How are you all doing today, i hope you have all had a fabulous weekend.

Today I wanted to step out of my comfort zone a little bit and create a little bit of a darker smokey eye look. As you will know if you have been with me for a while i like really bright summery sort of colours for example peaches and pinks and golds, so this look is definitely a new one for me.

I am 100% not a pro or MUA but i just love makeup and really want to venture out with my makeup journey and start trying new looks. I really hope you enjoy reading and seeing the look i created.

The smokey eye is not something i have had a lot of practice with but i wanted to give it a go. I used a couple of different palettes one called “day to night” by Avon and another from makeup revolution called ” …….”.

DSCN1533

For my base i started of with just a simple primer and white shadow to even out my skin tone and create a good base for the rest of my makeup.

To start this look off i went in with a browny sort of colour in my lid which was quite cool toned, i thought by starting off lightly it will be easier to build it up instead of going all in and then not being able to correct it as easily!

After going in with a brown i went in with a darker shade that was almost black but not quite, i applied this onto the outer corners of my eyes making sure to be very gentle. I then blended out that colour a little bit further onto the eyelid and through the crease, this really helped to bring it together and soften the look a little.

Next very lightly i went in with a  black eyeshadow from the Avon palette again, i applied this with a smaller brush to ensure i didn’t pack too much product on. I very lightly put this shade into the outer corners which darkened up the look a lot but i think it definitely added to the smokiness.

Now onto my favourite part of this look, the pop of purple! I wanted to add a but if vibrance to this smokey eye and these revolution pallets are perfect for the job. This palette was only £4 and for the amount of pigment these shades have i think its 100% worth the money.

DSCN1454

I used two different glitters from the revolution pallet, the blue and the purple. I think both of these shades are gorgeous and really suit the smokey eye i saw going for. For these glitter shadows i find you get the most pigmentation out of them when they are applied using your finger.

I went in the the blue first in the outer part of my eyelid, i thought because this was a darker shade it would blend nicely out with the darker colours around the outer end of the lid. After this added the purple shade and it really just made the whole look pop, i especially love how it looks underneath on the lower lash line! I really love the vibrancy of it and how well it works alongside the blue.

To finish off this eye look i added a wing using the Seventeen liquid eyeliner and a little bit of Benefit Roller Lash mascara. I think the wing really adds to the look and makes it a little more dramatic.

I think this look would be great for a night out paired with a sparkly top and a pair of black jeans!

I would love to know your thoughts on this look, do you like a smokey eye? Let me know in the comments!

Thanks for reading 🙂

A Little Lush Haul

Hello lovelies,

How are you doing today? I hope you’ve had a fab weekend. Today I thought I would do something i haven’t done before on my blog, a lush haul!

Read on to find out what I purchased and my thoughts on them.

I really love Southampton for shopping as there is such a massive variety of places to go. The majority of shopping I did today was in the west queue shopping centre, last time I went to Southampton to shop was a few years ago and i never remembered there being a lush store there, so when I  arrived and saw it I was very happy.

I have never actually done a lush haul on my blog before so this is a first! As the nearest lush shop is about an hour away from me I always have to make the most of it when I get the rare chance! Lush is one of my favourite shops, I know some people can’t stomach the smell, and i’ll admit it is quite overpowering and you definitely smell it before you see it! I really enjoy looking round and getting to test out and smell all of the different products.

As it’s getting close to easter now Lush always bring out special holiday products, there were a few I hadn’t seen before such as cream egg and  easter bunny sugar scrub. I really love that they bring out new and different products for holidays. I was a little bit disappointed that quite a few of these products where glittery, the reason why i find it a little but harder to shop for new products to try out is that I’m not a bit fan of the bath bombs or bubble bars that have glitter within them, i get that it appeals to some people, but having tried them out before i just don’t like getting out of the bath looking like a glitter monster! Instead I hunt for new products that are glitter free.

I was able to pick up a couple of things that a get almost every time I step into lush and I was also able to find a couple of new things that i hadn’t seen or tried before so I am really excited to give you all my opinions on them once i have tried them out. Let’s get on with the haul!

Creamy Candy Bubble Bar

The first item I found was the Think Pink bubble bar, for me this is a staple for my baths. I know some find the snow fairy scent overwhelming but i love it, to me it’s a really sweet sugary scent and I love the colour its turns the bath water to as its a bright pink! What I love about bubble bars is that you can get so many uses out of them, I break off a little pice each time I want to spice up my bath water and overall I think I can get around 6 or 7 baths out of this one bubble bar. With that being said i think it’s definitely worth the money at £3.50 As it has coco butter in it I find it helps to moisturise and soften my skin.

Main ingredients

  • Almond oil

Moisturising and conditioning

  • Fair Trade Organic Cocoa Butter

Moisturising and softening

  • Vanilla Absolute

Sweet and soothing

DSCN1556

Butterball Bath Bomb

The next product I picked up is another one of my all time favourites, Butterball. This little bath bomb is just a classic from lush and I think pretty much all people will like the scent this one has, as its made with cocoa butter it smells incredible and leaves your skin feeling so smooth and moisturised. Every time I go into lush I have to pick one of these up, I think they are a great bath bomb and a very reasonable price at £2.95. I love the simplicity of this bath bomb when you go into lush you are bombarded with all of the different colours of the rainbow and more, so I think it’s really nice to have some products that aren’t as bold for people who are maybe new to lush or just prefer something a little less wild. I find the scent really relaxing and it helps me to sleep at night after having my bath. Again if I really wanted to save it I sometimes break this bath bomb in half so I can get two uses out of it as i can’t get to a lush store as easily as others.

Main ingredients

  • Fair Trade Organic Cocoa Butter

Moisturising and softening

  • Ylang Ylang Oil

Sweet and heady

Cocoa Sugar Scrub

This item was part of the easter range, which I thought I would have a give at least one product a go from. There were two different type of this product one was a white bunny which had more of a coconut vibe and this one which was more chocolatey. As i have a lot of products already and are coconut scented I thought I would go for the cocoa bunny, this one smelt heavenly. They texture of this is quite coarse as it contains granulated sugar so I imagine it is going to be lovely to exfoliate your skins with in the shower and it will make you smell amazing! This product was pretty reasonably price a £4.95 I think that I will be able to get quite a lot of uses out of this sugar scrub.

Main ingredients

  • Cocoa Powder

Softening, uplifting and antioxidant

  • Vanilla Absolute

Sweet and soothing

  • Cocoa absolute

Chocoaltely and uplifting

  • Fair Trade Organic Cocoa Butter

Moisturising and softening

DSCN1563

Gritty Politti Naked Cleansing Balm

The last thing I picked up from lush today was this lovely facial cleanser, I don’t use many products on my face as i do have rather sensitive skin but I thought this sounded really lovely and wanted to give it a try. I have used this product for the first time tonight, I love the way it feels on my skin when i was rubbing it in, it also has very tiny pieces of coconut shell within it which gently exfoliated my skin. I love the smell of this product and i only us very small amount as it just melted into my hands. It removed my makeup really well, it even removed my mascara without much trouble. The one thing I will say is currently my cheeks are very red, I am not sure if this is due to the cleanser or not as my skin is quite sensitive it may just be that it needs a while to settle down. I would love to write a full review on this product when i have tested it out properly. I think if this product works for me i will definitely buy it again as it was £4.95 so i think it is good value for what you get in my opinion.

Main Ingredients

  • Sandalwood

Warm and woody

  • Rose wood oil

Balancing mind and skin

  • Ground coconut shell

Gentle exfoliant

  • Benzoin Resinoid

Soothing and protective

And thats the end of my haul, it was only a little one today. I hope you enjoyed reading, if you did let me know by leaving a like!

I’d love it if you could let me know what your favourite lush products are in the comments, or what would you like to try out!

Thanks for reading 🙂

February BirchBox | First Impressions

Hello lovelies,

How are you? Today I am writing about the February Birchbox, whats inside and my first impressions of the products. Read on to find out more!

As february is the month of love, being valentines the box has this sort of theme, in this months box a few post cards were added in with different wording on the design as you can see.

DSCN1518

Anatomicals Body Cleanser

The first thing that caught my attention in this months box was this cleanser. It is a full size product as it is 100ml. This cleanser is called “no one gets flirty with the dirty pick me up body cleanser” sticking with the theme of valentines day. I have heard of this brand before but until now haven’t tried any of their products out. I really like the scent of the cleanser, at first I wasn’t sure but the more I’ve used it the more I’ve grown to like the smell I would say it’s a unisex scent as it’s not either too feminine or masculine it sort of meets in the middle. It lathers up really well and a little goes a long way. As the RRP is only £4 i would consider buying it again.

Geranium and Grapefruit Body Milk

This lotion is by the brand John Masters Organics, the size of this product is only small as it’s a sample but would be great for travel or to keep in your handbag as it won’t take up too much room. I really love how this makes my hands feel, as one of the ingredients is coconut oil it really hydrates and moisturises.  After using this product my hand feel so smooth and soft but you don’t get any oil residue and the product sinks into the skin very fast. The scent of this body milk is the one thing that I wouldn’t rave about, the main ingredients are geranium and grapefruit. As I am not a big fan of citrus scents this isn’t to my taste, the grapefruit is a powerful scent but you can also smell the floral notes of the geranium. I wouldn’t purchase this again as the full size version is £18 and I don’t love the smell enough to buy it.

DSCN1520

Coconut and Fig Hair Masque

The next thing that caught my eye was this coco & eve “like a virgin” hair mask. I have seen this product advertised so am looking forward to giving it a go. I will do a full review on this once I have given it a few tries. The first thing to say about this product is that i adore the scent, one of my all time favourite scents is coconut so i can’t go wrong with this! It’s not an overpowering type of smell but it is really lovely, and i can’t wait to find out what its like when it’s in the hair. The directions for this product are different to what i thought they would be, you shampoo your hair and towel dry it, then distribute it evenly throughout your hair. This product claims it improves shine, texture and tames frizz. As i have naturally curly hair i can’t wait to see what the results are because my hair goes very frizzy when its natural.

Liquid Shimmer Shadow Eclipse

In this months box there were two shades of this eyeshadow you could possibly get, I received Eclipse. I really love this colour, it is a coppery shade and is a shimmer eyeshadow. I have worn this eyeshadow out once for a few hours, it applied really easily and is really pigmented. This product lasted the whole time i was out, its pretty smudge proof which is great as most powdered shadows start to wear off the longer you wear it. I love how shimmery it is and the applicator makes it easy to apply and enables you to be more precise as it’s not too big.

Tapered Blending Brush

The last item in February’s BirchBox is an eyeshadow brush from the brand Luxie, I’ve heard of this brand and think they are quite popular but I myself haven’t tried their products before. I like the look of this brush and the rose gold detailing is lovely! The bristles are quite soft, although i don’t think they’re as soft as the real techniques eyeshadow brushes. I am yet to give this brush a go but as it say i think it will be really good for blending shadows together. It does feel like a good quality brush and i am going to look into the brand more if i love using this brush.

DSCN1522

That’s all from Birchbox this month. I am quite happy with the selection of different products I received this time, but would’ve liked to see maybe another beauty product added into the mix.

I hope you enjoyed reading and let me know what you think of these products or if you’ve tried any of them out in the comments!

Thanks for reading 🙂

Valentine’s Eye Look

Hello lovelies,

How are you? As it’s Valentine’s Day tomorrow I wanted to share this look I created especially for it!

I don’t normally go this bold with my eyeshadow but I feel like going all out this time round.

To create this look I used the revolution newtrals 2 pallet as there are lots of pinks and reds within it.

DSCN1110.jpg

Base

To start of I put a little bit of Becca primer on my eyelids. As I don’t wear foundation I thought this would be a good way to use it and it worked really well as a primer for my eyeshadow. After I let that set in I went in the lightest shade in this palette which is a very light pinky/cream shade and it makes a lovely base colour.

Builder Colour

Next I added this peachy pink that I used to create my last eye look which was a Peachy Matte style. This palette is really good for building up colour as you can add little bits at a time and it blends in really well together.

All over

Once I had the first layer of colour on I went lightly all over with this orange/red colour which brightened it up a little bit. To do this I used the real techniques shadow brush as it’s good for blending colours together and packs on the shadow evenly.

DSCN1459

Outer third

The next colour I used was a bit bolder, it is a Beautiful bright red. I only had to use very small amounts of this as it’s so pigmented! I used a brush I bought from TK MAXX it’s a bit flatter than the real techniques shadow brush so found it good for placing the colour exactly where I wanted it. I put this colour on the outer third of my eye and then tied it in by bringing it across the top of my eyelid to help it blend well.

Glitter

Before adding the sparkles I went over my lid with concealer in the places where i would be adding the glitter shadows. After blending that out i went in with one of the darkest glitters in this pallet, it is a lovely purple shade with red tones i thought it would go really well with the red. The glitters in this palette are really pigmented, to get the best out of it i use my finger to apply them.

DSCN1467

Inner corners

To brighten my inner corners up I added a light pink glitter shade and blended it in with the darker glitter, this created a ombre effect which i really like. I think adding the pop of colour into the inner corners really helps to complete the look.

Touching Up

After finishing up with the glitters I went over with a soft blending brush and made sure to brush over any harsh lines to bring the look together. The finishing touch is definitely going around the outside of the eye with a makeup wipe and then adding a little bit of concealer to make the lines look sharp.

That’s all for today, I really hope you enjoyed reading and let me know what you think about this look in the comments!

What colour will you be wearing on your eyes this valentines day?

Thanks for reading 🙂

January Favourites | 2019

Hello lovelies,

I hope you are well, today I am going to talk you through my favourites of January. There are a few things I’ve been loving this month including beauty, homeware and books.

Keep reading if you would like to know more!

Woodland Wick Candle

I have been loving this candle, after having all of the christmas scented candles burning for a few months it was really nice to have something different. This smell is exactly what it says on the tin, it’s a cotton/linen scent and fills the room up with a clean fresh smell. One thing I love about this candle is that it’s huge, so there’s no problem with the scent not covering the whole room and it’s not overpowering despite being quite heavily scented in the jar. I love how the wicks of this candle are proper pieces of wood, there aren’t your standard rope wick. As the wicks are wooden it adds to the aroma of the room and gives it a slight woody edge. The colour of the candle fits in perfectly with the scheme of my bedroom as it is all mostly pink white and grey. I would definitely recommend Woodwick candles.

Mac Lipstick Velvet Teddy

On a day to day basis I tend not to go wild with my makeup as I am only going to work. I like to add a little bit of a “your lips but better” colour in the mornings just to help brighten up my face. Sometimes I will just apply a lip balm, but recently i have been adding this Mac lipstick on top and it just gives my lips that extra little bit of colour. This is such a beautiful shade, it’s a dusky/rosy pink and matches my lips really well.

How To Be Calm

Towards the end of January I have been having a bit of trouble with my anxiety. Reading this book when I get home is really comforting. There are so many lovely pages with quotes that help you to relax and feel uplifted, it helps me take my mind off of the things that are getting me down. Sometimes I don’t even know what I am worried about, just sitting and reading really helps to settle my mind for a while. I am really grateful to my lovely mum for gifting me this at Christmas.

Fluffy Socks

January was a super cold month! And there is nothing I love more than putting on a pair of cosy fluffy socks and sitting in front of the fire with the tv on. I don’t always to have a slippers on when I have my feet up on the couch, fluffy socks are the perfect addition! I have collected quite a good collection of fluffy socks now, i don’t think i will be running out any time soon! MY favourite pairs are from Primark, for around £1.90 you can’t get much better can you?

I really hope you enjoyed reading this post. I am going to make it one of my goals to make sure I upload a favourites post every month!

Brow Emergency Kit | Review

Hello lovelies,

I hope you are all well. Today I wanted to write a review on this product I found while looking for a new brow gel in Primark.

I really like using their brow gel, it works really well and holds my brows in place for the whole day. As I was looking I couldn’t find any on their own, instead i found this Brow Emergency set.

For £2.50 I couldn’t not give it a try. As you can see within the set you get 4 items. The first is a little brow pencil, next is a spoolie, then the brow gel and lastly a pair of tweezers. For this price you are getting each item for around 62p which is incredible! I love the look of this little set, it come in a clear plastic container and on the back there is a set of pictures that are showing you the steps to this kit.

The set I got was medium brown I like the feel of the brow pencil and the gel as the packaging for both are mainly matte, i think it gives it a sleek design.

Tweezers

At first look tweezers are not the best quality in the world but for 62p you can’t complain too much. They are a classic silver colour and the size of them is pretty good as they are the same size as a regular pair. When it came to plucking the hairs they were actually pretty good, i wasn’t expecting them to be so precise and it didn’t hurt much at all!

The Brow Pencil

I was very pleasantly surprised by the quality of this brow pencil. As i said before I got mine in the shade  medium brown The texture of the pencil is really smooth and silky as it goes onto the brows , I  found that it also blended out really well. This shade is a little bit darker than what I would normally go for so it took me a little while to get used to them as it did give them a more bold look. To get this sort of tone you only need to press lightly on the pencil as it is really pigmented. I will definitely continue to use this product.

Spoolie

Next is the set is a little eyebrow spoolie. I love using spoolies as I find they help so much with getting the hairs all in the right direction and it helps to neaten the look up. My normal brow product is the Benefit goof proof brow pencil which comes with a spoolie on one end and the product at the other end. The handle on this spoolie is not the best quality as its plastic and quite small, apart from this its still easy to use and I think the bristles on it are really good, they are quite soft so the don’t scratch the skin underneath when you’re combing. Due to its size I think this would be a good product to put in your handbag/ travel bag.

Brow Gel

The last piece the this set is the Brow gel! As I mentioned above i really like the brow gel that Primark sell. This one has slightly different packaging and is a little bit bigger than the one i purchased previously but it works all the same. I find this brow gel really good for keeping my brows in place without putting too much product on them like other brands i have tried. What I like about this particular brand is that it doesn’t leave your brows hard or “straw like” as some other brands do. I will definitely be being this product again when it runs out.

Overall I think this buy was a success, I don’t know if i will continue to use the tweezers but I will keep them in my draw as a back up if i am going away or happen to lose my current pair. My favourite part of this set has to be the brow pencil as it really did surprise me with how well it worked.

Have you tried this brow set, or will you try it after reading? What brand is your favourite brow gel from?  Let me know in the comments!
